Michael Kremer

Michael Robert Kremer (born 1964 ) is an American economist. He is Professor of Economics at Harvard University.

Life

Kremer studied social studies at Harvard (AB, 1985). 1985-1986 he was a teacher at a school in Kakamega District, Kenya. From 1986 to 1989 he was Managing Director of the NGO World Teach. In 1992 he received his Ph.D. from Harvard University in economics. In 1993 he went to MIT, where he was professor from 1998 to 1999. Since 1999 Kremer has been a professor at Harvard. Kremer also conducts research at the National Bureau of Economic Research, at the Brookings Institution and the Center for International Development.

Work

Kremer's research interests are education and health in developing countries, immigration, and globalization.
