National Bureau of Economic Research

The National Bureau of Economic Research ( NBER ) is a US-based " private, nonpartisan nonprofit research organization" devoted to the study of theory and empirical economics focuses, in particular the U.S. economy. The seat is in Cambridge, Massachusetts (USA). As an objective it sees the unbiased research before and the dissemination of knowledge among politicians, businessmen, and the academic community. The NBER was founded in 1920 and publishes the NBER Working Papers. The current chairman is the economist Martin S. Feldstein.

The NBER is the largest economics research organization in the United States.
