Michael Logan (musician)

Michael Logan ( * ca 1949) is an American jazz bassist.

Logan, who is from Chicago, first played guitar. 1969 he moved to bass guitar, mid-1970s to the double bass. He studied with Rufus Reid and with Muhal Richard Abrams, on the album Blues Forever ( Black Saint, 1982) he participated. Throughout his career, he also worked with the North Side Symphony Orchestra, Clifford Jordan, John Hicks, John Stubblefield, Walter Bishop Jr. and Geri Allen. From the 1990s he was a member of the trio and quartet of Kalaparusha Maurice McIntyre, whose albums Dream Of ( CIMP, 1998) and Extremes ( 2007), he is heard. Under his own name he put 1995 Muse Records Album Night Out in front, to the Benny Green, Houston Person, Joe Ford and Cecil Brooks III participated.

The bass player is not to be confused with the keyboardist who worked with Ramsey Lewis et al.
