Michael Nyqvist

Rolf Åke Mikael Nyqvist [ mikaɛl nʏ ˌ kvist ] ( born November 8, 1960 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish film and theater actor.

Life

Nyqvist grew up with Swedish adoptive parents, who received him as a baby from an orphanage. After the birth of his first child he decided to find his biological parents, he also found after a long time. His childhood and the search for his biological parents Nyqvist describes in his autobiography Just after dreaming ( Swedish: När barnet LAGT sig). He is married and has two children.

At the age of 17 years Nyqvist spent an exchange year at the College of Omaha, Nebraska, United States. There he had his first experience with acting by playing several small roles ( including in Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman ). After his return to Sweden Nyqvist took ballet classes for a year. At age 19, he was accepted at the Swedish Academic School of Drama.

After Mikael Nyqvist had completed his training as an actor, he played mainly in the theater and small roles in various film productions

After he had drawn attention to himself in the TV adaptation of Lars Norén persons 3.1, he starred in a number of theater productions, including the way out in 1999, Lukas Moodysson's Together! of 2000 and the Mankell adaptation The Fifth Woman ( 2002). In 2002, he was next door excellent for the role of the farmer Benny Söderström in the type of the grave with the Guldbagge price.
