Michael Petry (footballer)

Michael Petry ( born August 31, 1976 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a former German football player.

Career

Player

Petry began in his hometown to play soccer. In 1999 he moved to VfR Mannheim. After two years and good performance he went to SSV Jahn Regensburg. There he played in the DFB - Pokal 2001/ 02 against Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the first round and defeated the plant Elf with 0:3. After just one season, and scored eight goals in 30 games, he moved to Kickers Offenbach. In the season 2002/ 03 Offenbach reached the 2nd round of the DFB - Pokal 2003/04. It was suggested in the first round of Karlsruher SC, but had to retire against 1 FC Nuremberg in the second round. Petry products obtained his first DFB Pokaltor. In the DFB-Pokal 2003/ 04 Petry different again with his team in the first round of - this time against arch-rivals Eintracht Frankfurt, which Petry was able to achieve a goal.

In summer 2004, he joined again to Jahn Regensburg. In 36 games, he scored a meager two goals, leading to his departure for SV Sandhausen by itself. There he was able to continue more times. After two years in Regensburg, he went to 1.FC Saarbrücken. There he was able to confirm its performance in the first season yet, but broke in the second a technically efficient, so that the separation took place. He moved to Arminia Ludwigshafen, where he made 14 goals in at least 27 games.

Coach

He was then but assistant coach of the second team of 1 FC Saarbrücken, was still in use as a center forward. In the headlines came Petry, when he 's first team Saarbrücken shot to victory in the 3rd League shortly after a Substitutes. Since many strikers Saarbrücken failed, the assistant coach was brought to the first-team.
