Michael Radford

Michael Radford ( born February 24, 1946 in New Delhi, India) is a British screenwriter and film director.

Career

Michael Radford made ​​famous by the film Il Postino from 1994, for which he was nominated in the categories " Best Director " and " Best Screenplay " at the Academy Awards. Radford spent his youth in India. As a young man he came to England to study at Oxford philosophy, politics and economics. After graduation, he worked for a time as a teacher and actor. In 1971 he formed part of the cohort of the newly created National Film and Television School, where he trained to become a documentary filmmaker.
