Michael Sauer (ice hockey)

Michael Sauer ( born August 7, 1987 in St. Cloud, Minnesota ) is an American professional ice hockey player standing since 2007 with the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Michael Sauer began his career as a hockey player in Canadian junior Western Hockey League, where he was from 2004 to 2007 for the Portland Winter Hawks and Medicine Hat Tigers active. With the Medicine Hat Tigers, he won in the 2006/07 season the President's Cup, the championship of the WHL. During his junior time the defender in the NHL Entry Draft in the second round was selected as the 40th overall player of the New York Rangers in 2005. From 2007 to 2010 he played mainly for their farm team in Hartford Wolfpack of the American Hockey League, where he came in parallel in the 2008/ 09 season for his debut in the National Hockey League for the New York Rangers. In three games, he stuck to it point by point and with impunity. In the season 2010/ 11, the Americans drew up a regular place at the New York Rangers, for whom he in a total of 81 NHL games 16 scorer points, including three goals.

Family

Michael Sauers brothers Kent and Kurt were also professional hockey players. While Kent Leagues was only active in various Minor, Kurt was in a total of 400 NHL games for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Colorado Avalanche and Phoenix Coyotes in use.
