Michael Schur

Michael Schur ( born October 29, 1975 in West Hartford, Connecticut as Michael Herbert Schur ) is an American screenwriter, television producer, television director and actor, known for his work on the three NBC comedy series Saturday Night Live, The Office and Parks and Recreation.

Life and career

Michael Schur was born in October 1975, the son of Anne Herbert and Warren M. Schur in West Hartford, Connecticut, USA. According to his own statement, the comedy genre interested him the age of eleven, when he Without guidance no Freud, a collection of short stories from 1975 read Woody Allen. There he worked until 2008 as a producer and as a scriptwriter, for which he won an Emmy Award and two Writers Guild of America Awards. In the series, he had by 2011 nine guest appearances as Dwight Schrutes ( Rainn Wilson) cousin Mose. In 2006 he also wrote together with Paul Lieberstein every ten screenplays for web series The Office: The Accountants, for which they both have a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Broadband Program - Comedy won. A year later he then had a guest appearance on the Fox Youth series The OC.

In April 2008, Greg Daniels and Schur began to develop a spin-off to The Office. However, after several months of deliberation, she came to the conclusion, rather instead of doing a spin-off but a stand-alone series.
