Michał Bergson
Michał Bergson (aka Bereksohn ) ( born May 20, 1820 Warsaw, † March 9, 1898 in London ) was a pianist and composer.
Life
Bergson coming from a significant Jewish Warsaw family. He studied in Dessau with Friedrich Schneider as well as in Berlin with Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Taubert and Rungenhagen. In the years 1837/38 he corresponded with Robert Schumann. Then he lived mostly in Paris and London. In 1857 he married a native of Yorkshire Catherine Levinson ( 1830-1928 ) and in 1863 Professor at the Conservatory of Geneva, whose line he took a few years later.
Family
He had seven children, including the philosopher and Nobel Henri Bergson (1859-1941) and the occultist Moina Mathers born Bergson ( 1865-1928 ).
