Michelle Roark

Michelle Roark ( born November 16, 1974 in Artesia, New Mexico) is a former American freestyle skier. She was dedicated to the moguls and dual moguls mogul disciplines.

Biography

As a child, Roark was initially a figure skater, but then switched due to high training costs for mogul skiing. In 1990 it was U.S. junior champion, but was then in the next two winters due to an injury no competitions contest. For this reason, she focused on her studies at the Colorado School of Mines in Boulder, where she graduated in the fields of chemical engineering, refining and environmental sciences.

On December 15, 1994 Roark made ​​his debut in the freestyle skiing World Cup and came in Tignes on the 17th Place. In the following years she participated in only a few races due to studies. The first full season they played in the winter of 1999 /2000. On 30 January 1999, she won her first World Cup race in Whistler, on the following day their second. Finally, they won the dual moguls discipline rating for themselves. Up to the next podium took almost three years.

In the 2003 World Cup in Deer Valley Roarke won behind Norway's Kari Traa the silver medal in the discipline moguls. In January 2005, she won her third World Cup victory after more than five years. Two other races she won in the 2005/06 season. In January 2008, she stood for the last time on top of the podium. She ended her career after the Olympic Winter Games 2010.

Roarke founded in Denver, the company Phinomenal that manufactures perfumes from all-natural ingredients. The production of conventional perfumes on the basis of synthetic alcohol, it rejects health reasons.
