Michiel Sweerts

Michiel (or Michael ) Sweerts ( baptized September 29, 1618 in Brussels, † June 1, 1664 in Goa ) was a Dutch painter and etcher.

Sweerts lived from about 1645 to 1656 in Rome, and painted in the style of Bambocciade, that is, he chose his subjects from everyday life.

Today Michiel Sweerts is best known for his painting Boy with Turban, which is owned by the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum (Madrid ), and earlier Francesco de Rosa was attributed.
