Midlands Province

Midlands is a province in Zimbabwe.

Its territory covers 49,166 km ² and a population of about 1.5 million ( 2002). The provincial capital is Gweru, the third largest city in the country. As the central province of Zimbabwe is where the population of all possible ethnic groups: Shona, Ndebele, Tswana, Suthu, Chewa.

Due to the Midlands, the most productive part of the ore-rich Great Dyke pulls. Kwekwe is probably the richest in mining and processing industry and chemical industry city. The gold mining here is the highest in the country. Away from the Great Dyke outweighs agricultural sector, while in the two Gokwe districts dominated by the cultivation of cotton.
