Mike Leclerc

Michael Leclerc ( born November 10, 1976 in Winnipeg, Manitoba ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who has played during his career between 1996 and 2006 for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Phoenix Coyotes and Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League.

Career

Mike Leclerc began his career in 1992 at the Victoria Cougars of the Western Hockey League. In 1994 the team was renamed the Prince George Cougars and moved to Prince George, British Columbia. Mike Leclerc played not even a full season in Prince George, he moved to the Brandon Wheat Kings, who also played in the WHL. NHL Entry Draft 1995, he was selected by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. Between 1996 and 1999, he was mainly used in the Ducks farm team, the Baltimore Bandits and the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks. He graduated to 1999, only 19 games in the regular season and two in the playoffs for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

As of 1999, Leclerc played with strong performances in the team of the Ducks. By 2004, he came in nearly 300 games for the Ducks used. He reached 142 points for the Ducks in almost four years. In the 2001 / 02 season, he came in all 82 games of the regular season for the Ducks used. It was his best season with 44 points in the NHL. At the beginning of the 2005/06 season the Ducks transferred him to the Phoenix Coyotes. There, he played 35 games before he was released on 1 February 2006 with Brian Boucher for Philippe Sauvé and Steven Reinprecht to the Calgary Flames. After fifteen games with the Flames, he finished at the end of the season his career.
