Mike Thurmeier

Michael " Mike" Thurm eggs (born 1965 ) is a Canadian animator and film director.

Life

After he had completed his 1997 animation studies at Sheridan College, he applied to some companies as a 3D animator. He moved in 1998 to New York City to work at the computer animation studio Blue Sky Studios, where he has worked ever since. So he was with the animation sequences in Fight Club (1999) and The Sopranos (2000) involved. In the following time he was also responsible for the animation of almost all productions of Blue Sky, as well as "Lead Animator " in Ice Age (2002) and as " Supervising Animator " in Robots ( 2005) and Ice Age 2: The Meltdown ( 2006). After that he was " supervising animator " at Horton Hears a Who! (2008).

For a short film with the squirrel Scrat on the DVD Ice Age 2: should be included in addition Meltdown, you hired him along with Chris Renaud as a director. The six-minute film entitled No Time for Nuts was completed in 2006, won an Annie Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for " Best Animated Short Film ".
