Blue Sky Studios

Blue Sky Studios is a company specializing in computer animation company, which belongs to 20th Century Fox Filmed Entertainment and, similarly has the Pixar animation studio, specializing in animated feature films.

The company was founded in 1987 and had until January 2009 based in New York City. In January, the company moved its headquarters about 10 km north to the border of the State of New York to Connecticut. The workforce is, according to company site about 180 members in size.

Filmography

Blue Sky Studios had with Ice Age, Robots and Ice Age 2: The Meltdown great success. The company produced three short films that were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. The film Bunny ( 1998) has won the coveted prize. The second short film was Gone Nutty with the character Scrat from the two Ice Age movies. He was nominated in 2003 for an Oscar, but lost. The third short film Scrat No Time For Nuts, was nominated for an Oscar in 2007. Ice Age Part 3 came in early July 2009 in the cinemas.
