Mikhail Pugovkin

Mikhail Ivanovich Pugowkin (Russian: Михаил Иванович Пуговкин, real name Pugonkin ( Пугонькин ), born July 13, 1923 in Rameschki, Rajon Tschuchloma; † July 25, 2008 in Moscow) was a Soviet / Russian actor, who received the award in 1988 People's Artist of the USSR.

Life and work

Mikhail Pugowkin studied under Ivan Moskvin at the theater school of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre. During World War II he fought as a volunteer in the Red Army and was severely wounded at the front. After his recovery, he got his first role in 1943 at a theater in Moscow and played after the war in the movie The Wedding by Anton Chekhov with. Pugowkin participated in more than 70 films in the subsequent period.
