The Milano Porta Romana station (Italian: Stazione di Milano Porta Romana ) is a railway station in the northern Italian city of Milan. It lies on the southern belt path, which is operated by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana.

Location

The station is located in the southeast of the city; takes its name from the Porta Romana, which is about 500 meters further north, back.

The station building is located next to Corso Lodi, leading over the railway lines. Under the building there are the two tracks with two side platforms.

History

In 1891 opened Southern Belt railway freight station was located the Porta Romana; because of industry growth, a passenger station was built in 1931, which was specially used for commuter traffic.

In 1991, the M3 line of the subway opened, which links the state railway station with the TIBB Lodi Metro Station. Curiously, there is another metro station, named Porta Romana, which is at the city gate, and therefore has nothing to do with the station. A renaming of the State railway station has already been discussed.

Traffic
