The Monza railway station (Italian: Stazione di Monza ) is that of the northern Italian Monza Station. It is operated by the Company Centostazioni, a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato.

The train station is on the railway line Milan - Chiasso and is the starting point of the routes to Lecco and after Molteno. All the routes were operated by RFI.

Location

The station is located south of the city center and has a total of seven platform tracks. He is a key railway station, with the station building in the lateral position.

History

The station was (the second opened in what is now Italy route) built in 1840 as the terminus of the line Milan - Monza. Already in 1849 this line was extended to Como. 1873, the line was opened by Calolziocorte. 1884, the old station building was replaced by the current.

The Monza - Molteno was opened in 1911 as a private local railway. The track had its own starting point at Monza Sobborghi station, which was reached by a connecting track. The line was taken over by the SS in 1954, and it had to be today beginning at Monza Station.
