Miles Mander

Miles Mander ( born May 14, 1888 in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England; † February 8, 1946 in Los Angeles, California ) was a British actor, director, screenwriter and film producer.

Life

Miles Manders began his acting career in 1920. His first appearance in a Sherlock Holmes production was in 1921 as Godfrey Norton in the silent film A Scandal in Bohemia. In 1932, he starred in the movie The Missing Rembrandt as Claude Holford.

From 1926 he also worked as a director, he first turned to 1927 several short films. His debut as a screenwriter was already 1924. As a producer, he has been involved in four productions. By the end of his life Mander has appeared in over 100 film productions.

He was since 1912 with Pratibha Devi ( 1891-1923 ), a daughter of the Maharaja of Cooch Behar Nripendra Narayan and his wife Suniti Devi, married; his brother Alan married two years later her sister Sudhira Devi ( 1894-1968 ).

Miles Mander was also known by the name of Lionel Henry Mander Miles and Luther.
