Military Ordinariate of Croatia

The Croatian Military Ordinariate, Croatian Vojni ordinarijat u Republici Croatian (English Military Ordinariate of Croatia ), is a Military Ordinariate in Croatia and in charge of the Croatian armed forces. Current bishop Juraj Jezerinac.

History

The Military Ordinariate in the Republic of Croatia cared for members of the Croatian armed forces, catholic religious affiliation pastorally. It was built by Pope John Paul II on 25 April 1997. After a mutual decision between the Holy See and the Republic of Croatia is the seat of the Croatian Military Ordinariate in Zagreb. Auxiliary Bishop of Zagreb Juraj Jezerinac was ceremoniously introduced the first military bishop in his office for the announcement of the papal bull of 25 April 1997. The new building of the Croatian Military Ordinariate was opened in Zagreb and was consecrated on August 5, 2003.
