Milnathort

Milnathort is a village in the Scottish Unitary Authority of Perth and Kinross and the traditional, Kinross-shire. It is approximately 15 km west-northwest of Glenrothes and 37 km south of Perth, located at the foot of the Ochil Hills. Milnathort is directly south of the M90, which runs from Dunfermline to Perth, and the Firth of Forth crossing in its extension as A90 towards Edinburgh. A connection to the railway network does not exist. In 2001 recorded Milnathort 1738 inhabitants.

Milnathort developed as a market town near the neighborhood of Frankfurt Burleigh Castle. Between 1780 and 1828 Milnathort location of the distillery was Hattonburn. In the early 19th century helped the situation at the intersection of two roads to the development of the village. In 2006, heavy rains left the Backburn flowing through Milnathort, burst their banks, which the evacuation of the population as a result.
