Miloš Kopecký

Miloš Kopecký ( born August 22, 1922 in Prague, † February 16, 1996 ) was a Czech actor and member of the theater Vinohrady.

Life

Kopecký began his stage career in 1941 at the German-occupied Prague. He was arrested as a Jew in a warehouse and his mother deported to the ghetto Terezin and murdered in Auschwitz. After the liberation he could resume his theater work again.

Its ability of prompt improvisation enabled him to work with an actor like Jan Werich sizes and Miroslav Horníček. He worked in several Prague theaters until 1965 at the Vinohrady found his final home.

His film debut was Kopecký 1946. He usually played supporting roles characteristic. In Germany he became famous for his appearances in the series Pan Tau and the hospital on the outskirts of the city. Beginning of the 80s he hosted on Czech Television directed against emigrants and for the regime series step into the unknown ( Krok do Neznáma ). One of his most recent theater roles was the character of Richard III. by William Shakespeare.

Kopecký was a member of the communist party and signatory of Charter 77 anti to the signing he has been forced as a member of the Communist Party. In May 1987, Kopecký held at the IV Congress of the Association of dramatic artists a very critical speech against the leadership of the Communist Party and called on them to resign.

He was for a time the husband of actress Stella Zázvorková.
