Mimas (Greek Μίμας ) is a giant of Greek mythology. He is one of the sons of Gaia.
In Gigantomachia Mimas was an opponent of Zeus and was killed by Hercules in battle.
Mimas is buried below the Mimas Mons, either a mountain on the Ionian coast north of Erythrai ( the Boz Dağ today with the city Karaburun in Turkey ) are not precisely located, or at a neighboring Thracian Rhodope promontory.
In addition, a moon of Saturn, Mimas is named after him.
