Minato-ku, Osaka

Minato- ku (Japanese港区, dt " Port District " ) is one of 24 districts ( ku ) of Osaka, Japan.

History

The municipality was created in 1925 from parts of Kita- ku and Nishi -ku. 1932 Taishō -ku was separated as an independent municipality. Its form today received Minato- ku 1943.

Traffic

Through the city district of Minato run the Hanshin highways Nos. 4, 5 and 16, and the National Roads 43 and 172 On three sides it is bounded by water: in the southwest by the harbor basin, in the north- west by the Ajigawa and to the southeast by the Shirinashigawa.
