Minuscule 59

Minuscule 59 ( in the Gregory- Aland numbering ), ε 272 ( von Soden ), is a Greek Minuskelhandschrift of the New Testament on 238 parchment leaves ( 19.6 x 14.5 cm) with gaps. Using palaeography was dated the manuscript to the 13th century.

Description

The Code contains the text of the four Gospels. He has written one column each with 23 rows. It contains Prolegomena, lists of κεφαλαια, τιτλοι, κεφαλαια, Synaxarion, Menologion, but Ammonianische sections and the Eusebische canon missing.

The Greek text of this codex is largely a mixture of different types of text. Kurt Aland placed it in any category.

History

The Code is currently in Gonville and Caius College (Ms 403/412 ) in Cambridge.
