Mirza Nasir Ahmad

Mirza Nasir Ahmad ( Urdu مرزا ناصر احمد, DMG Mīrzā Nasir Ahmad, born November 9, 1909 in Qadian, † June 9, 1982 in Islamabad ) was elected on November 8, 1965 for the third caliphate ul- Massih. He was the son of his predecessor, Mirza Bashir ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad.

Life

Mirza Nasir Ahmad completed thirteen years memorizing the Koran and was Hafiz. Later he completed a master's degree at the University of Oxford. He married in August 1934 Mansura Begum. After the death of his first wife he married on April 11, 1982 Dr. Tahira. Mirza Nasir Ahmad was particularly active in the field of education in the Jamaat. Thus he became in 1938 a professor at the Jamia Ahmadiyya ( Theological College ), and in June 1939 its director.

Khilafat

Mirza Nasir Ahmad was elected on November 8, 1965 Khilafat ul- Massih and erected immediately after the election, a special fund, the Fazle - Umar Foundation. With its help, continuing the work of his predecessor, Mirza Bashir ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad, should be secured. The Foundation has also funded the establishment and maintenance of a Central Library in Rabwah.

Foreign visits

Europe

On his first trip to Europe in 1967 he held his principle speech " a message of peace, a word of warning at the same time " in London. On 31 July 1967, he opened with Nusrat Jehan Mosque in Copenhagen, the first mosque in the Nordic countries. In 1976 he traveled to Europe and America. On 2 and 3 June 1978, a "Conference for the salvation of Jesus from the Cross " in London is held. His last trip abroad was in 1980. During this trip, he covered, among others, the foundation stone for the first mosque on Spanish soil after expulsion of Muslims from Spain over 500 years ago. He coined the motto of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat " Love for All, Hatred for None ".

Africa

On his journey through West Africa in 1970 Mirza Nasir Ahmad established the foundation of " Nusrat Jehan Plan ". With this plan, schools and clinics in African countries should be opened in order to make a social and cultural contribution to the development of the continent.

Pakistan

Mirza Nasir Ahmad 1966 laid the foundation for the Masjid -e- Aqsa in Rabwah, the world's largest mosque of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat. After the anti - Ahmadiyya riots Mirza Nasir Ahmad from 1974 and four more Ahmadi scholars a eleven-day inquest of the National Assembly were against. Ultimately, the Ahmadiyya was declared by the Pakistani Parliament a non-Muslim religious community on 21 September 1974.

Death

He died on 9 June 1982 at 12:45 at the Bait -ul- Fazl, Islamabad (Pakistan ) at the age of 73 years. On June 10, he was buried in Bahischti Maqbarah ( Rabwah ). The funeral prayer led Mirza Tahir Ahmad, his successor, who was elected on the same day for the fourth Khalifatul Massih.
