Jalsa Salana

Jalsa Salana ( Urdu جلسہ سالانہ Dschalsah Salanah ) denotes the spiritual Annual Meeting of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat. It is usually a multiday event ( in Germany 3 days) for the glory of Allah and the Prophet Muhammad and serves the spiritual edification.

Aim and purpose

The founder of the Ahmadiyya movement of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad about the meaning and purpose of the meeting initiated by him:

"The aim and purpose of the Jalsa is that the members of our Jamaat accomplish such a change in that their hearts turn to completely otherworldly. They should develop the fear of God in themselves and are role models of virtue, reverence for God and compassion for others. They are mutual love and brotherhood prove each other. They should be meek, humble and true and ready to spread the faith. "

Program

The Jalsa Salana begins on Friday with the ceremonial flag-raising. The national emir ( president) hoists the flag of each country and the Khilafat ul- Massih, if present, the flag of the Ahmadiyya.

Directly followed by the Friday Sermon ( Khutba ) of the respective caliphate ul- Massih. By Sunday there is a program with various speeches about spiritual and moral issues that the Caliph, but also from the national emir, ministers, imams ( Islamic scholars ), etc. held. The Jalsa Salana is held every year in all countries in which the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is represented by a municipality. Switzerland

The first Jalsa Salana was held in Switzerland in 1983 in Zurich.
