Jalsa Salana
Jalsa Salana ( Urdu جلسہ سالانہ Dschalsah Salanah ) denotes the spiritual Annual Meeting of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat. It is usually a multiday event ( in Germany 3 days) for the glory of Allah and the Prophet Muhammad and serves the spiritual edification.
Aim and purpose
The founder of the Ahmadiyya movement of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad about the meaning and purpose of the meeting initiated by him:
"The aim and purpose of the Jalsa is that the members of our Jamaat accomplish such a change in that their hearts turn to completely otherworldly. They should develop the fear of God in themselves and are role models of virtue, reverence for God and compassion for others. They are mutual love and brotherhood prove each other. They should be meek, humble and true and ready to spread the faith. "
"The primary purpose of this meeting is to allow all sincere individuals is personal to experience religious benefits; they may expand their knowledge and - due to their Blessed and leisure givenness of Allah, the Exalted - may their knowledge [ about Allah ] to proceed. Secondary advantages include that this assembly of the congregation will promote mutual understanding among all brothers, and it will strengthen the fraternal bonds in this community. "
The head of the Ahmadiyya, Mirza Ahmad Masrur, understands the meaning of the event as follows:
" Ahmadis hold for the pleasure of God Jalsas in all countries and gather once a year for a few days to make spiritual changes in themselves and to gain Allah's pleasure. "
Program
The Jalsa Salana begins on Friday with the ceremonial flag-raising. The national emir ( president) hoists the flag of each country and the Khilafat ul- Massih, if present, the flag of the Ahmadiyya.
Directly followed by the Friday Sermon ( Khutba ) of the respective caliphate ul- Massih. By Sunday there is a program with various speeches about spiritual and moral issues that the Caliph, but also from the national emir, ministers, imams ( Islamic scholars ), etc. held. Many a time also hold non- Ahmadi guests talking. The television station of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, mta, records the most speeches and sends them live, if the Khilafat ul- Massih is present, otherwise individually in the following days.
The most important part of the festival is the five-time work done jointly prayer (salat ). The ceremony of the "International bai'at " (True Vows to the Caliph ) (currently the Jalsa Salana UK) held usually only at Jalsa Salana International. So the Caliph accepts the bai'at new Ahmadis. The Jalsa Salana is made possible by donations of Ahmadis, all guests are hosting free according to Islamic tradition.
Since all speeches will be simultaneously translated into more than 10 languages , most visitors can easily find out about the Ahmadiyya. Various tents for women, youth, education, mosque, press and books provide more opportunities to engage in conversation.
The Jalsa Salana is held every year in all countries in which the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is represented by a municipality. In Pakistan, it was, however, banned in 1984 by the government, as the Ahmadiyya was classified as non- Islamic community. Because of the presence of the Caliph strict safety precautions are taken. Background is an attempt on the Khilafat ul- Massih II in 1954, and last but not least the increased terrorist threat against the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in recent years. Access to the event site, only members and pending or invited guests. The site has a separate section for women only, which is separated by privacy walls and will not be entered by men in general. If the women go to the men's area, they wear a scarf or a Dupatta.
The Jalsa Salana 2008 was marked by the centenary celebrations of the Khilafat, the Jalsa Salana were of the terrorist attacks on two mosques in Lahore on May 28, 2010, with 98 people killed and over 125 injured in 2010.
Venues
India / Pakistan
The Jalsa Salana was initiated by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the founder of the Ahmadiyya, and took place on December 27, 1891 for the first time in Qadian (India) instead, in which 75 people participated. At the last he visited Jalsa Salana 1907 there were 2,000 people who attended.

United Kingdom
The first Jalsa Salana in the UK took place in 1966. Since the ban to hold Jalsa Salana in Pakistan, the Jalsa Salana UK Jalsa Salana acts as an international and takes place in the vicinity of London, where the current head of the community, Mirza Ahmad Masrur lives. In Tilford, a town near London, the Jamaat had bought their own site, which is known to the name " Islamabad ". There the Jalsa was held from 1994 to 2004. The site was given the name " Hadiqat ul- Mahdi " ( the garden of the Mahdi ) and is located in the town of Alton, about 90 km outside of London. The Jalsa Salana in the UK always takes place on the last weekend of the month in July, when the Caliphate ul- Massih the appropriate time is always present.
2007 In 2007, the Jalsa Salana UK took place between 29 July of 27. Due to the heavy rain that fell a week before the Jalsa, encountered some problems in the organization and structure. The biggest challenge was the parking of vehicles of guests traveling from across the country dar. Due to the fact that the actual parking lay on a meadow landscape, this could not be used for long. Therefore, it was shortly hired a military area, which was located about 6 miles from the event site. The people were then transported from there by bus to " Hadiqat ul- Mahdi ". For the next two days we organized a bus shuttle between " Islamabad " and " Hadiqat ul- Mahdi " or Bait ul- Futuh and " Hadiqat ul- Mahdi ". Despite the poor conditions of some 26,000 people attended the Jalsa Salana.
Germany
Jalsa Salana Germany The first took place in 1976. The meetings were held on the site of Noor Mosque in Frankfurt- Sachsenhausen. Then, the community bought in wholesale Gerau a plot ( " Nasir Bagh " ) and held Jalsa Salana 1985 there. The place was, however, too small for the increasing number of visitors. Jalsa Salana Germany since 2011 takes place at Messe Karlsruhe annually.
The annual meeting of the Ahmadiyya organized exclusively by the community in volunteer work and carried out. All costs incurred will be payable solely from its own resources AMJ Germany and donations. None of the 16 annual meetings on the May market in Mannheim was subsidized with municipal funds. With an average of 30,000 visitors Jalsa Salana Germany which is the largest Islamic organization in Europe.
Flag formation The flags of the 16 German states stand on a central square trellis, at the end on a pedestal of equal importance the German flag and the flag of the Ahmadiyya ( Liwa -e- Ahmadiyyat ) are flagged. At the corners of the platform four Khuddam are posted as a guard of honor, armed to defend with black and white sticks, as a symbolic sign of willingness both their faith and the land of their loyalty.
2001 The International Jalsa Salana found, due to the broken out in the United Kingdom foot- and-mouth disease in Germany. Therefore, it was achieved a record attendance of 50,000 in 2001.
2008 Worldwide this year was thematically remembering the 100th anniversary of their caliphate in the foreground. These guests were expected from around the world in Germany. According to those expectations took 37,000 visitors attended the Jalsa Salana 2008.
2011 From 24 to 26 June 2011, the annual meeting for the first time held in the Messe Karlsruhe.

Switzerland
The first Jalsa Salana was held in Switzerland in 1983 in Zurich. From 3rd - 5th September 2004 was the 22nd Jalsa Salana in the presence of Mirza Ahmad's Masrur in the multipurpose room of Forch ( in Zurich). From 4 to 6 July 2008 the 26th annual meeting for the first time in Frauenfeld at the Festhalle Rüegerholz held, attended by 723 visitors. The 27th annual meeting was held in the hamlet of houses in the community Wigoltingen from 12 to 14 June 2009.
Canada
15,000 members and guests attended the Jalsa Salana 33 in Canada in 2009 from 26 - 28th July was held in Mississauga.
Africa
The Jalsa Salana Ghana is on a 400 acre plot of land ( " Bagh -e -Ahmad " ) held, located about 60 km from the Main State Accra. The meeting was attended by the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Mirza Ahmad Masrur in the years 2004 and 2008. In 2008, was the special guest of the President of Ghana, John Kufuor, present, the Ahmadiyya community congratulated on their 100 - year anniversary celebrations of their caliphate on this occasion and the Caliph referred to as a brother, friend and teacher for citizens of Ghana.
The Jalsa Salana Nigeria is held on a 85 acre plot ( " Hadeeqate -e -Ahmad ": Ahmad's Garden ), located about 40 km from the Main State Abuja.
