Misha Quint

Misha Quint (Russian: Михаил ( Миша ) Квинт, German transcription Mikhail ( Misha ) Kwint; * in Leningrad ) is a Russian cellist.

Career

Misha Quint began at the age of nine years to play the cello and debuted in orchestral playing at the age of thirteen, when he won the Boccherini Competition in Leningrad. He later won the International Competition in Prague and the Russian National Competition. His career as a solo cellist flourished; He has performed with orchestras such as the well-known Russian Moscow State Symphony, the Leningrad Philharmonic, the Leningrad State Orchestra, the Orchestra of Classical and Contemporary Music with the symphony orchestras of Lithuania and Georgia.

Misha Quint was in 1989 in the United States. He debuted in New York at the 92nd Street Y and completed his orchestral debut at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center. He often performs with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Brooklyn. His solo performances were held in the Metropolitan Symphony, instead of with the New York Chamber Orchestra, the National Irish Symphony, with the Kammersymphoniker New York and with the London Soloists Chamber Orchestra at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.

Quint played under the baton of Maxim Shostakovich, Paul Lustig dark, Colman Pierce, Sidney Harth, Ravil Martynov, Camilla Kolchinsky, Yakov Bergman and Ira Levin.

Critics describe him as a "master of the feelings of the shaded phrasing and flawless technique ." Daniel Webster from the Philadelphia Inquirer writes: "" ... [ his ] virtuosity provided a fresh voice ... "" and " the Russian school of string instruments scored with Quint A Different Light". Quint's radio broadcasts include performances at QXR "In the Listening Room " and live performances at WGBH in Boston one, when WMNB (New Jersey), WNYC (New York).

Misha Quint played the world premieres of new works by famous contemporary composers such as Schnittke, Gubaidulina and Basner. He was winner of the CRS Wettbwerbs of Contemporary Music in 2009.

Activity as a music teacher and teacher

Quint has been musical director, founder and teacher of the Inter- Harmony International Music Festival. He was a faculty member of the International Institute of Music market Oberndorf, Germany, and the musical director and founder of the International Cello Festival in Blonay and the Inter- Harmony Music Festival in Geneva was ( Switzerland ). He gave countless concerts and master classes in England, Germany, Switzerland, Ireland and the United States.

Currently Misha Quint is a member of the Mannes College of Music in the Preparatory Division in New York City teaching staff.

Inter Harmony International Music Festival

Misha Quint is the founder and musical director of the Inter- Harmony, an international music festival. The festival takes place in Arcidosso in Tuscany ( Italy) and was previously in Sulzbach -Rosenberg, in Birklehof ( Germany ), San Francisco ( California ) and in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts. On these festivals is intense concerts. They include public performances and master classes. Inter Harmony is focused on string instruments and the piano.

The Inter Harmony International Music Festival has gained recognition in Germany and the United States. The U.S. Consul General delivered a speech at the final concert of 2008. Misha Quint plays with Caitlin Hulcup, mezzo-soprano of the Vienna State Opera and Christa Mayer, mezzo-soprano of the Bayreuth Festival 2010.
