Mistley

Mistley is a large village in the county of Essex, in the District Tendring. It is located about 11 miles northeast of Colchester and is bordered to the east of Manningtree. The settlement has, thanks to the Mistley railway station and a railway station is to the route network of the National Express East Anglia, a British train operating company, connected. The route of the Mayflower Line begins in the west at Manningtree and ends in the east at Harwich.

The Mistley Towers are the twin towers and only remnants of the demolished church 1870 St Mary the Virgin. The parish church was built in the early 18th century. 1776 was the architect Robert Adam commissioned to improve the church and built the two towers. After the main building of the church was demolished in 1870, a larger church was built in the Gothic Revival style near. In the 1950s, the Mistley Towers were after they were partially decayed, restored.
