Mladé Buky

Mladé Buky ( German Jung book) is a long-drawn- spots in the Czech Republic.

Geography

The average altitude is 476 m above sea level. NN. The town is located south of the Rehorngebirges in the narrow valley of the Upa, 8 km upstream from Trutnov. Downstream follow the places Kalná Voda, Dolni and Horni Stare Mesto Stare Mesto, upriver Svoboda nad Úpou.

History

The town was founded in the mid 13th century by German colonists who followed the call of King Wenceslas I, to open up the country. The first settlers were probably Köhler, who built their reactors there. In the Middle Ages there were around glassworks which were dependent on charcoal. Over time, more people settled. The German inhabitants as well as the descendants of the Köhler who also wore the surname Köhler, still lived until the expulsion of the German Bohemia, 1945 in Jung book, then they were mostly deported to Germany. Only one family in Jungbuch can trace their origins to this family Köhler. 1939, the place had 3903 inhabitants.

The place was dominated for a long time for agriculture. Johann Faltis built in 1836 flax mills, arguing that mechanical Flachsgarnspinnerei in Austria. From the mid 19th century, more industries, such as branch plants of Etrich and honey companies ( textile industry ) and the place was created part of the judicial district or the district Trautenau Trautenau. This textile factories were nationalized after 1945 and summarized under the name Texlen in a combine.

The master carpenter Franz Baudisch began in 1891 Jungbuch - murky water as the first in Austria - Hungary with the production of skis. Since 2006 Mladé Buky again has the status of a Městys.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Mladé Buky Hertvíkovice ( Hartmann village), Kalná Voda ( murky water) and Mladé Buky (Jung book ).

Tourism

Jung book is at the present time a tourist resort and in winter a ski resort with chairlift. There is also a railway station.

Traffic

The station Kalná Voda ( murky water) and the breakpoint Mladé Buky (Jung book ) are located on the railway line Trutnov - Svoboda nad Úpou, which is served by the public transport company GW Regio Train with regional trains.

Through the town the road runs I/14 ( Nachod- Harrachov ), from which branches before Kalná Voda II/300 about Schatzlar after Königshan. The II/296 via the neighboring Svoboda nad Úpou further up to Pec pod Sněžkou.
