Mladen Pralija

Mladen Pralija ( born January 28, 1959) is a former Yugoslav football player.

Career

Mladen Pralija came in 1987 as successor to the sacked tribe goalkeeper Uli Stein for Hamburger SV. He was recommended by the then coach Josip Skoblar. Pralija has been committed by the Yugoslav first division club Hajduk Split.

His debut was on August 8, 1987 at 0:6 against the then arch-rivals FC Bayern Munich. He was also at 2:8 at Borussia Mönchengladbach on September 26, 1987, first on the court, but has been replaced with the score at 1:3 due to a head injury against Richard Golz. However, there were also excellent games of Pralija (eg, 2:2 against 1 FC Nuremberg on 11 September 1987), but hardly find in retrospect his performance into account. After the dismissal Skoblars Pralija was suspended by new coach Willi Reimann and left the HSV with a record of 35 goals conceded in 14 games. In July 1988, he returned to Hajduk Split. Then Pralija worked as a coach.

His successor at HSV were Heinz -Josef Koitka and Richard Golz.

Hindsight of Pralija for HSV- time

Pralija commented later to his difficult time at Hamburger SV. " From day one, for me, the situation was completely confused. I had no apartment, my wife Sonia was still in Split, got a little later our son Ivan. And I alone in Hamburg. No one from the club helped me. I did not understand the language. "
