The Casablanca airport ( Aéroport international de Mohammed V -. Nouasseur, Eng Mohammed V International Airport, مطار محمد الخامس الدولي, DMG Matar Muhammad al - HAMIS ad Duwalī Arabic) is a Moroccan airport near Casablanca.
He is the main airport of the country and the hub of the state- Moroccan company Royal Air Maroc. He is according to Mohammed V, who died in 1961, grandfather of the current King Mohammed VI. Named.
In the winter timetable 2011/2012 Casablanca is served directly from German speaking countries: Royal Air Maroc flies direct from Geneva, Berlin, Frankfurt and Lufthansa daily from Frankfurt. Other routes pass through the airport Paris -Charles -de- Gaulle. As of the winter timetable 2012/2013 Casablanca is served three times a week by SunExpress from Frankfurt.
Airport operator is the authority Office National des Aéroports ( ONDA ).
By January 1986, the airport was a possible emergency landing of the Space Shuttle at a take-off.
Approach
- Car: The airport is located 30 km south of the city center and is via motorway towards Settat to reach
- Rail: The ONCF runs every 30 minutes to the city's port (journey time 45 minutes).
- Bus: The company CTM runs every 60 minutes to the center.
Extension
2003, the expansion began: A new runway south of the existing and a new terminal under construction in order to allow a capacity of eight million passengers.
