Moldovan Cup

The Moldavian Football Cup (Romanian Cupa Moldovei; Russian Кубок Молдавии ) is discharged since 1992 cup competition of Moldova. After the first division Divizia Naţională the Cup is the second highest football competition in the country. Until 1991, Moldova was part of the Soviet Union; after independence led to the new trophy. Responsible for the annual Cup round of Moldovan Football Federation Federatia Moldovenească de Fotbal ( FMF). From 1992 to 2008, the finals were held in the capital Chisinau in Chisinau National Stadium. Since 2009, the finals were in Stadionul Zimbru ( 10,500 seats), also held in Chisinau. Built in 1952 the national stadium with 8,000 seats has since been demolished and will be replaced by a new building with 50,000 seats.
