Molise

Molise is a region of Italy on the Adriatic, with an area of 4438 km ² and 313 341 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). Thus, it is the smallest by area and population, according to the Aosta Valley region. Capital is Campobasso. The region consists of the provinces of Campobasso and Isernia. It tells the story of the neighboring regions of Abruzzo and Puglia. In Molise there are also ethnic minorities and the Arbëresh Moliseslawen. Both minorities are to be found in the province of Campobasso.

Molise is a region independent only since 1963. Previously, she was one of the Abruzzo and formed together with this an administrative unit.
