Molodist

Molodist (Ukrainian: Молодість ) is an international film festival in the Ukrainian capital Kiev. The name " Molodist " is the Ukrainian name for youth.

The festival, which is the biggest film festival in Ukraine 1970 took place the first time. The first festival director was Mykola Maschenko.

Molodist specializes in films by young directors. It is accredited as a festival with specialized international competition since 1993 when film producers association FIAPF. Competing student films, short film debut films (feature films, animated films and documentaries ), and (since 1975), the first full-length feature films by young filmmakers will be shown. Away from the competition run more international films and retrospectives great film schools. In addition, there is a Panorama section of Ukrainian films. The main venue of the festival is the cinema Kyiv downtown.

The contract awarded by a jury main prize of the festival is the Grand Prix. It consists of the Scythian deer statuette and a cash prize of $ 10,000. Among the other awards conferred at the festival is also a FIPRESCI Prize at the International Film Critics Association Fédération Internationale de la Presse Cinématographique.
