Mols - Linien A / S is a Danish shipping company, which was founded in 1963 and operates commercial ferry service in the Kattegat. Currently, the shipping company operates fast ferry connections on the routes Odden -Aarhus and Odden - Ebeltoft. By September 2011, the ferry and freight route Kalundborg -Aarhus was served.

History

In 1964, Mols-Linien has been a subsidiary of DFDS and remained until 1984 in their possession, then the company was sold to the shipping company J. Lauritzen. In 1988 Difko the shipping company in the form of blocks of shares that have been acquired mainly by employees. Following the establishment of the Storebæltsverbindung and the need to consolidate the company was transformed in 1994 into a public limited company listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange. In 1998, Mols-Linien competitors Cat -Link, who had until then the route Kalundborg -Aarhus operated by catamaran ferries. For a long time there was a solid ferry service between Jutland and Zealand. By 1874 DFDS opened a connection between Aarhus and Kalundborg with passenger steamships, and in 1934 took Grenaa - Hundested lines between the ferry Djursland and North Zealand on. This line got 1964 competition by Juelsminde Kalundborg ferry lines with the " Julle " and " Kalle ", and two years later took Mols-Linien operation between Ebeltoft and Odden on. Mols-Linien was built by DFDS, which had issued in 1960, the line between Aarhus and Kalundborg on the DSB.

In 2010, Mols-Linien transported 2,039,687 passengers, 757,823 cars and 251,714 trucks. In the same year, the shipping company had a turnover of 653 million Danish kroner and employed approximately 500 employees.

Current fleet

The fleet now consists of four ferries, these include the two fast ferries May Mols and Mie Mols (120 cars, 450 passengers, 33,000 hp, gas turbines, Speed: 45 knots ) and the Incat catamaran fast ferry Max Mols (220 cars, 800 passengers, 38 480 hp speed: 38 knots ).
