The Moncton Stadium, in French Stade Moncton is a multi-purpose stadium in the Canadian city of Moncton in New Brunswick.

History

The stadium was built between 2008 and 2010 and cost about 17 million Canadian dollars. Owner of the stadium is the Université de Moncton and the Moncton. The Moncton Stadium has a capacity of 10,000 seats. Through additional grandstands, the capacity can be doubled.

First, the Canadian Junior Championship and later the Junior World Cup athletics was held in Moncton in July 2010. In September 2010 and September 2011 were conducted as part of the Touchdown Atlantic season two games of the Canadian Football League in Moncton instead. 2010 met the Toronto Argonauts Edmonton Eskimos on, one year later, the Hamilton Tiger -Cats and the Calgary Stampede were compared.

The Canadian national football team has played on 30 May 2012, a friendly against China in Moncton, which they won 1-0. The Moncton Stadium will be one of the venues for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2014 and the women's soccer Women's World Cup 2015.
