Mont-de-Marsan

Mont -de- Marsan ( Occitan: Lo Mont de Marsan, also: Lo Moun ) is a French town with 31 188 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Landes department in Aquitaine in the region and the largest city of the department. It is the seat of the prefecture of the department. The prefecture also manages the Arrondissement Mont- de -Marsan, it consists of 17 cantons.

Mont -de- Marsan is located on the river Midou and Douze, which unite in the city center to Midouze. This is a tributary of the Adour. It is therefore also called the city of three rivers.

Partnership

The city is connected since 1956 in partnership with the Swedish municipality Alingsås.
