Montreal River (Saskatchewan)

The Montreal River is a river in central Saskatchewan in Canada.

It forms the outflow of Montreal Lake. From there it flows north to Lac la Ronge, which flows through the Rapid River to the Churchill River.

River

The river begins at the north end of Montreal Lake, 5 km north of the community Molanosa and 4 km west of the Saskatchewan Highway 969 It flows north, the Saskatchewan Highway 2 crosses at the level of the Montreal River Provincial Recreation Site of the river. The river flows in a northerly direction. The Saskatchewan Highway 165 crosses the river. The Montreal River turns to the east, flows through the lakes Partridge Crop Lake and Lake Sikachu and reaches the Egg Lake at Wawe Bay. It flows eastward, flows through Bigstone Lake, crosses again the Saskatchewan Highway 2, and finally reach the Lac la Ronge between municipalities in La Ronge and Air Ronge.

Fauna

The following species of fish in the River: Walleye, Canadian walleye, American perch, pike, American char, Heringsmaräne, Coregonus, burbot, the Redhorse Catostomus commersonii and Catostomus commersonii.
