Mór Perczel

Moritz Ritter Perczel of Bonyhád, Hungarian Perczel Mór, ( born November 14, 1811 in Tolna, † May 25 1899 in Bonyhád, Hungary) was a Hungarian Revolution General.

Perczel built on land costs on 16 September 1848, a volunteer corps and forced with this 10,000 -strong army corps under Roth and Philippovich in the open field to lay down her arms. For this, he was appointed major general. On 31 December, he was attacked by the Austrians at Moor and largely blown his corps. Perczel then went with the newly formed volunteer corps to the relief of Petrovaradin the Banat, where he quickly won victory on victory since March 22, so at Zombor, Sireg and Horgos. He then reinforced the garrison of Petrovaradin. Later he took a castle in Szettmanás the Serbs, but was urged by the Austro-Russian main force until after Szeged. After the disaster of Világos on August 13, he fled to the Ottoman Empire and went to London in 1851.

1867 Perczel returned to Hungary, was elected to the lower house and was there the Deák party to, as its president in 1873 and 1874 he held a great influence. After that he lived until his death retired to his estates.
