Moranbong - guyŏk is one of the 18 districts of Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea. It is located north of the downtown district Chung- guyŏk and is bordered to the north by the districts Sŏsŏng - guyŏk and Taesong - guyŏk, on the east by the Taedong - gang and to the west by the Pot'ong input and the District Pot'onggang - guyŏk. It received its name after Moran Hill in the west of the district. He was declared in October 1960 to the municipality.

Traffic

The Pyongyang Metro stops within the Moranbong - guyŏks at the stations Tongil, Kaeson, Chŏnu, and Chŏnseung.

The district is connected by the Rungna - bridge to the island and the rungra Taedonggang - guyŏk.

Buildings and facilities

Over a large part of the district extends Moranbong Park, the largest recreational area of Pyongyang. There are several historical relics, such as the Ch'ŏllima statue and the remains of the wall of the ancient castle and various pavilions.
