Moree Plains Shire

Moree Plains is located in the north of the state at the Queensland border about 650 km north of the city of Sydney and 475 km south-west of Brisbane. The area includes 79 districts and towns, including Boggabilla, Gurley, Moree, Mungindi, Pallamallawa and Weemelah. The seat of the Shire Council is located in Moree in the eastern half of the LGA, where about 8,000 inhabitants.

Management

The Moree Plains Shire Council has twelve members who are elected by the residents of the LGA. Moree Plains is not divided into districts. From the circle of Councillor also the Mayor ( Mayor ) of the Council recruited.
