Morris Fuller Benton

Morris Fuller Benton ( born November 30, 1872 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, † June 30, 1948 in Morristown, New Jersey ) was an American engineer and a well-known type designers. From 1900 to 1937 he was Design Director of ATF (American Type Founders ), an association of American type foundries.

He has designed or redesigned more than 200 typefaces. Among the most famous of his families include ATF Bodoni, Broadway, Century, Franklin Gothic, Clear Face, Celtenham, Stymie and Cloister Old Style.
