Moschofilero

The white grape Moschofilero ( [ mɔsxɔfilɛrɔ ], Greek Μοσχοφίλερο ) is native within the Regional District of Florina in the region of Macedonia and the Peloponnese in the region of Arcadia. Although the skin of the berries is reddish colored to red, it is similar to the Pinot Gris or Gewurztraminer associated with the white varieties. The quality of the white wines, such as the quality of the wines of Mantinia is good. The floral, determined by a slight scent of roses bouquet was a suspect relationship to Gewürztraminer or Muscat. However, DNA analysis could not show a family relationship.
