Mount Ossa (Tasmania)

Mount Ossa is in 1,617 m the highest mountain in Tasmania.

Mount Ossa is located in the center of the Australian state of Tasmania in the Cradle Mountain - Lake St. Clair National Park. The national park has a size of about 1612 km ² and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage of Humanity. The mountain is relatively easy to climb, just right at the top there to overcome rock. The weather on the mountain is very changeable, in winter it is often icy - cold with howling winds and snowfall. Snow is mostly by May to October but even in the summer months, the peak is sometimes white. The summer months are still the best time to climb since then the conditions are less extreme. Their pristine beauty owes to the region of the Austrian-born Gustav wine villages. Through his efforts a national park was founded on May 16, 1922.
