Mount Ragang

The volcano Ragang is a stratovolcano on the Philippine island of Mindanao. It lies on the border between the provinces of Lanao del Sur and Cotabato in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. The Ragang is one of 22 active volcanoes in the Philippines and the most active volcano on Mindanao. He belongs to a chain of volcanoes which is of volcanologists Central Mindanao Arc called ( a part of the Philippine island arc ), which also houses the Latukan and Mount Apo is located.

The summit is 2815 meters above sea level, the mountain has a base diameter of 32 km.

Outbreaks

About the number of outbreaks, there is conflicting information. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology lists eight eruptions and dated the most recent eruption in July 1916. Smithsonian Institution 's Global Volcanology Program assumes that some outbreaks of neighboring Makaturing attributable to the Ragang and dated the most recent eruption in 1873.
