The Azura is a cruise ship in the British shipping company P & O Cruises. It is the second largest ship of the company.

History

The Azura is a modified version of the Grand- class, eleven ships were built by the between 1998 and 2010. Construction of the Azura was on 27 October 2008. On April 10, 2010, the ship was finally handed over to P & O Cruises. The maiden voyage began on 12 April 2010 in the port of Southampton. Originally the ship was registered in Southampton, but the home port in November 2011 to Hamilton, Bermuda was moved. While her sister ship Ventura is designed to be family-friendly, the more Azura was built in the style of classic cruise. The ship has, among others, a dance floor, a theater with 800 seats, an English pub called Brodie 's (named after one of the founders of the P & O Line, Brodie McGhie Wilcox ) and a show lounge. It also has a large open-air cinema on the pool deck.
