History

Crown Cruise Line

The ship was placed on the Union Naval de Levante SA, Valencia on December 12, 1989 order. The keel laying under the hull number 198 was held on 31 January 1992 on 21 March 1991, the launching. In March 1997, Majesty Cruise Line chartered the ship and put it under the name Crown Majesty for their cruises a. In the further course of the year it was sold to the Norwegian Cruise Line, which used it under the name Norwegian Dynasty.

Commodore Cruise Line

In October 1999, the Commodore Cruise Line, Panama bought the ship and called it back to the previous name Crown Majesty. On 18 December 1999 the first Cruises launched under the new operator.

Fred Olsen Cruises

After the Commodore Cruise Line was insolvent in February 2000, bought the Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, the ship on 11 May 2001 and called it into Braemar. From 20 June to 22 July 2001 fresh and extensive remodeling and renovation measures place at Blohm & Voss in Hamburg. Inter alia, large parts of the interior with the help of designers have been renewed.

The first cruise under the new owners launched on 11 August 2001 by Dover, England. From this point on the ship for cruising with mostly British audience was used.

In December 2007, the preparatory work began on the extension of the ship at Schichau Seebeck Shipyard GmbH in Bremerhaven. On April 5, 2008, it was towed from Bremerhaven to Blohm Voss Repair GmbH in Hamburg, where it was extended to July 2008, around 32 meters from 163.81 to 195.82 m.

Sister ships

During construction of the Crown Dynasty, there was already a sister ship, the Crown Jewel, which was put into service in 1992. This was used from 1995 to 2009 as SuperStar Gemini and since 2009 as a Gemini.
