The Pride of Telemark was a ferry that ran last for Kystlink. Sister ship is the Stena Danica.

History

The ship was built as Stena Jutlandica for Stena Line. The launching of the ship on 22 December 1980. On March 31, 1983, the ship was delivered to Stena Line and used until June 1996 between Göteborg and Frederikshavn.

From late June to early August 1996, the ship on the Lloyd shipyard in Bremerhaven was rebuilt and then used as Stena Empereur between Dover and Calais. As of March 1998 the ship sailed for P & O Stena Line and was then renamed in November of the year in P & O SL Provence, in mid-October 2002 PO Provence and in February 2003 Pride of Provence.

End of October 2004 the ship was sold to Greece to GA Ferries Piraeus and rebuilt in early 2005. As Pride of Telemark it came from mid-2005 for Kystlink between Langesund and Hirtshals or Langesund and Strömstad used.

2010 the ship was sold to the Danish shipping company Thyferries that it until 2014 on the route Hanstholm - wanted to use Kristiansand. The sale failed. The ship was launched in several Norwegian ports and eventually sold to an Indian scrap yard in August 2011. In September it was transferred to Alang for demolition. There, the ship on 27 October 2011 was placed on the beach.

Incidents

On 18 April 2003, the ship in Dover collided with a jetty.

On 11 September 2007, there were on the ship a power failure and the NUC ship collided with a jetty in Hirtshals. Here, the hull was damaged. From the end of November it was repaired in Frederikshavn for about 10 million euros. As a replacement vessel has been chartered by the Fantaasia Tallink and deployed starting in December 2007.
