MŠK Žilina

The MŠK Žilina ( officially MŠK Žilina, as) is a Slovak sports club and football club from Žilina ( Žilina dt ). MŠK is in the new millennium the most successful Slovak football club.

History

The club was founded on June 29, 1909 at that time under the Hungarian name Zsolnai Testgyakorlók Köre. Žilina was between the two world wars twice Slovakian champion -. 1928 and 1929 the team was the eleventh best team of Czechoslovakia and played in 31 seasons in the first Czechoslovak league. In the seasons 2001/ 02, 2002/ 03, 2003/ 04, 2006/ 07, 2009/10 and 2011/12 MŠK Žilina Slovak champion. They also reached the 2009/10 as the first Slovak team in the group stage of the Champions League.

  • 1 x UEFA Cup group stage 1.Hauptrunde for 2008/2009 ( as previously only Slovak team)
